About us

Bjørn Mathisen Antikviteter is a third-generation antiques business. Bjørn previously worked at Kaare Berntsen, where he was responsible for folk antiques. In 1986 he and his son Arnstein decided to set up on their own. That is when Bjørn Mathisen ANS was founded.

We deal in Norwegian antiques, with a particular focus on folk antiques. What matters to us is that the pieces are of good quality, in good condition, and that you as a customer are happy.

In the 1990s Bjørn Mathisen often appeared in the magazine Hjemmet with articles on antiques. The expertise goes back to childhood. We are often asked about valuations, both by auction houses and private collectors.
